Refinanced XXXX mortgage loan, closing date : XX/XX/2020. XXXX XXXX rec 'd final payment from XXXX ( closing attorney ) who apparently mistakenly short-paid XXXX in the amount of {$4900.00}. Upon realizing this mistake, they corrected within 48 hours ; additionally offered a letter of accountability. XXXX reports " late mortgage '' payments for XXXX and XXXX on my credit report through XXXX and Transunion. I have made four attempts to correct with the previous lender and credit bureaus ( offering them supporting documentation ) and they will not remove the negative remarks from my credit report. Letter of accountability clearly states the human error lies with the closing attorney. Furthermore, {$4900.00} on a {$210000.00} pay off marked " two days '' past due date does not justify TWO 30-day late penalties on my credit reports. The result of this has caused credit limit decreases totaling {$7400.00} and credit denial for new credit accounts or increases, three creditors have even completely cancelled access to existing credit accounts with a reasoning " recent late mortgage '' payments -- which I have zero. I pride myself on a stellar payment history to my creditors. PLEASE help me with a remedy for fair credit reporting for this unique situation. I have worked very hard to build my credit -- to have blemishes I can not control is unjust. Thank you
