A mortgage company named XXXX reported a 30 day late payment on XX/XX/2019. I do not know who XXXX is and I have never had a mortgage with them. In this same time frame my mortgage was with Fairway Independent Mortgage Corp. The house I had with Fairway was sold and I closed on XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX about XX/XX/2019 they sent me a late notice on my mortgage that I closed on XX/XX/2019. I contacted their credit department and told them that I closed on that house on XX/XX/2019. They said that they had not received the check yet. The closing company said that it was sent the next day after closing. After several phone calls it turned out that Fairway lost the check. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, WI XXXX, ph:XXXX put a stop on the old check and wrote a new one. XXXX XXXX. told me that I wouldn't get a negative remark on my credit report because this was not my fault. I just discovered that it was reported to the big three and XXXX XXXX. This entry caused me to be denied a VA mortgage by XXXX XXXX. I don't know if XXXX has anything to do with Fairway or if the dates are just a coincidence.
