On XX/XX/2021 I opened secured credit card in Capital Ona bank. I put {$200.00} security deposit as a transfer from my XXXX XXXX deposit account. It was accepted by Capital One. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received credit card. I followed instructions to activate it online, but activation failed. I called customer service and they told me they need to verify my ID. I have SSN, valid US EAD and valid XXXX passport but none of these documents were recognized by Capital One. They said they need driver license or state ID. I do not have these types of ID and asked to close my account and return {$200.00} security deposit back. They said it will be returned in a term of 2 billing cycles. My money were never returned to me. No update was provide ether. Today, XX/XX/XXXX, I called Capital One and they said they can not return my money because my account is locked and they need to verify my ID. I provided photos of front and back of my valid EAD but they refused to recognize it again. They refused to return my money back. I tried to escalate but was a dead end. They said they use barcode reader and it doesnt read EAD barcodes .... This doesnt sound like valid legal argument. Basically they refuse to recognize government issued ID.
