Someone that stole my identity about 6 or 7 years ago just applied 10 times for a credit card. After declining it many times, they ended up accepting and sending them a card, now there are charges that they damaged my credit score. I was trying to refinance, when my consultant found put my credit was terrible because of XXXX XXXX. Apparently they are the worse credit card company to protect the victim and help the thief. I reported the issue to them and after a while they decided to mark all of the 10 applications as fraud and in 60 to 90 days they would clean my record. We asked to have a letter sent to us so we could prove what happen and the action they were taking, it could help us with our refinance in the mean time, hey said no problem. When I decide to verify the address where they were going to send the letter, of course it was the XXXX address from the thieves, I asked to sen it to my address and they said they can not do that, they can only send it to the address in XXXX, even though I repeatedly explain that that was the fraudulent address. On the end we were not able to get them to sen us any proof. Now we were transferred to another department to take care of the open card that had the charges, they kept us passing us from one person to another one smarter than the previous, just to let us know after one hour on the phone, that the department that was handling this kind of issues was closed until Monday. So here I am asking myself if I should just go ahead and learn how to become an identity thief, so I have full protection and support from credit card companies like XXXX XXXX. On the other hand I have to also give it to the Credit Bureaus which they are as equally incompetent and after many years fighting, police reports and enough compelling proof, they are still refusing to remove the XXXX fraudulent address that appears my credit report and has continued to do so for the past 7 years.
