Consumer Narrative
Last year on or about the month of XX/XX/2020 I received a copy of my credit report from XXXX and I also received a copy of my credit report directly from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX While going over the information contained in that report I noticed that their was a collection account that had been placed into my credit report profile, unbeknownst to me, that I did not recognize. Prior to the collection account being placed onto my credit report I did not receive any notifications whatsoever, in the mail. Nor, was I notified by any other electronic means, and/or via telephone calls. As a result, I decided to dispute the negative account that was adversely affecting my account directly with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, and also with the furnisher, XXXX, XXXX, respectively. I sent both XXXX, and the furnisher XXXX, XXXX Certified Mail Letters with Return Receipts through the US Postal Service pointed out to them the inaccurate information that was being reported. In addition, I respectfully demanded that they either correct the account in its entirety, or delete the account altogether. XXXX, refused to conduct a reasonable investigation on their own, but what they continued to do over and over again was parrot the information that they received from the furnisher, which merely stated that the account was verified as accurate, by the consumer. Even though the information that was provided to the from myself was a Validation Letter that I received directly from the furnisher that completely contradicted what was being reported by the furnisher, to the credit bureau. Even with irrefutable proof, XXXX refused to even conduct their own investigation. Initially, when I first began to dispute the account information with the credit bureau, I also sent a Request for Validation directly with the furnisher, too. What I received in the mail from the furnisher was a Validation Letter that proved that the information that was being reported was in fact inaccurate. It is irrefutable proof that the account was being reported inaccurately. Not only was the amount inaccurate, but the date opened field was changed periodically. The date first reported field and the payment history fields were also inaccurate, and were changed periodically.
