I noticed a collection showing up on my XXXX credit report recently. I tried to dispute it since I did not know what it was for and have not taken out any loans for that Im out. When I disputed it, Monterey insisted the balance was legit. Therefore, I requested in a signed certified letter that they send me a copy of the loan agreement, who the cosigner is, proof that my Social Security number is on there, which makes it legally tied to me. They provided a contract and the person who its tied to, but, theres no Social Security number and the company they are claiming it came from is in XXXX, not in the United States.
