On XX/XX/year>, I was a victim of fraud and sent {$900.00} through XXXX XXXX, which was funded by my Wells Fargo debit card checking account. The transaction occurred only because I was misled by false representations made by the recipient. I immediately reported the transaction to Wells Fargo as fraudulent. Wells Fargo summarily denied my claim without any investigation stating that I authorized the payment. However, the authorization was obtained through fraud and deception. I did not authorize any legitimate transaction with knowledge of the true facts. I never received the goods at issue, nor did I receive my money back. My consent was obtained solely by fraud and deception. Under Regulation E, an electronic fund transfer initiated because of fraud or deception may still be considered unauthorized. Wells Fargo closed the claim without properly evaluating any of the circumstances of this fraud and without providing any information or evidence that the transaction was authorized under applicable law. I am requesting that Wells Fargo properly investigate this claim and provide provisional credit as required for unauthorized electronic fund transfers.
