Over the past several months, my Capital One account has been taken over multiple times due to fraud. Each time I reported the fraudulent activity, Capital One locked my account and refused to discuss it with me until I submitted identity verification documents they requested. During these review periods, I was unable to access my account or make payments. As a result of being locked out, one of my accounts incurred a past-due balance and was assessed a late fee. Once my access was restored, I immediately made the required payment. At that time, I was assured by Capital One representatives that both the late fee and any related interest charges would be waived because the delinquency occurred solely due to the account restrictions placed after the fraud reports.
