Consumer Narrative
TransUnion is continuing to report a tradeline originally associated with XXXX XXXX, account number XXXX, despite TransUnions own reporting indicating that the account was sold to XXXX XXXX XXXX. The tradeline currently reflects all of the following at the same time : {$0.00} balance / paid Closed / written off Company sold : XXXX XXXX XXXX Purchased by another lender Continued charge-off and delinquency history Once OneMain sold the account, it lost all legal authority to continue furnishing information. TransUnions continued publication of this tradeline constitutes false, misleading, and internally inconsistent reporting. I previously disputed this account directly with TransUnion. Despite that dispute : No deletion occurred No correction occurred No primary-source documentation was produced No disclosure of the method of verification was provided TransUnion failed to conduct a reasonable investigation as required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) and is now on actual notice of ongoing statutory violations. Why This Is a Legal Violation TransUnions conduct violates multiple provisions of the FCRA, including but not limited to : FCRA 611 ( a ) Failure to conduct a reasonable investigation FCRA 611 ( a ) ( 5 ) Failure to delete unverifiable or inaccurate information FCRA 623 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ) Reporting information that is inaccurate or misleading FCRA 609 ( a ) Failure to provide full disclosure and the method of verification Reporting a sold account by a non-owner, while simultaneously displaying a {$0.00} balance, charge-off status, and delinquency history, is legally impossible to be accurate and results in artificial suppression of my credit profile. Harm Caused Ongoing suppression of my credit score False derogatory history attributed to a non-owning furnisher Impairment of credit opportunities Significant time and effort spent attempting to correct unlawful reporting ... I have sent TransUnion a Final Notice of Statutory Non-Compliance with a 10-day deadline. This CFPB complaint is filed due to TransUnions continued refusal to delete or correct inaccurate and misleading reporting despite clear evidence of account sale and loss of furnishing authority.
