To Whom It May Concern, I am submitting this complaint regarding a medical debt that a collection agency has failed to properly validate after receiving my written dispute. Debt Collector Name : AMERICOLLECT INC Amount Allegedly Owed : {$1100.00} Original Medical Provider : XXXX XXXX XXXX Date of First Contact : XX/XX/year> On XX/XX/year>, I sent a written debt validation request to the collection agency within 30 days of receiving their initial communication. My request was sent via certified mail. The agency received my dispute but has failed to provide proper validation of the alleged debt. To date, the collector has not provided sufficient documentation to verify : * That I am legally responsible for this medical debt. * A detailed, itemized billing statement from the original medical provider. * Proof that the amount claimed is accurate and includes no unauthorized fees or charges. * Documentation showing the collector has legal authority to collect this specific debt. Despite my timely dispute, the collector has continued collection efforts and/or reported this account to credit reporting agencies without first providing proper validation. Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( 15 U.S.C. 1692g ), a debt collector must cease collection activity until proper verification of the debt is provided after a timely dispute.
