Product : Auto loan or lease Issue : Trouble with payments/ Refund not received I made XXXX payments in error to Mercedes-Benz Financial in XXXX and XX/XX/year> for an account that was closed approximately XXXX years ago and is no longer serviced by MBFS. Mercedes-Benz Financial returned XXXX of the XXXX payments on XX/XX/year>, confirming receipt of the funds. MBFS has failed to return the second payment and now claims it can not locate the account, payment, or processing facility. MBFS has possession of funds paid in error to a non-existent account and has no legal basis to retain them. I have provided proof of payment and proof of the prior refund. I am requesting that MBFS conduct a formal payment trace/unapplied funds search and immediately refund the remaining payment. Failure to do so constitutes unjust enrichment.
