I used my friend 's physical cash app card at my local water company. You can't do tap to pay and I lost my wallet so I had no cards at all. He allowed me to use his. This was in XXXX. XXXX he filed a claim with cash app for my money. They released it to him without doing a proper investigation because had they done a proper and full investigation, they would have seen in his recent activity, literally XXXXwo deposits sent directly from my cash to his. All the same day. For the account to the bill and attribute to get money for giving a ride there. My legal name is on my cash app and address, which is the same name and address tied to that water company 's account that the money went to came from. When I called cash app support, I had to get them to help me get into it because I just recently went from an XXXX to XXXX and I couldn't get into the cash app account on the XXXX. But they helped me get into it and even seen where I did in fact send him the money. It's a lot to explain. I have pictures and receipt as well. Cash app and the water company should have better guard rails for things like this. The water company reached out to me twice via two different means of communication but couldn't reach out to me when this was happening to my account. Cash app should've did a better job investigating because if I stole his money to pay my water how do you explain me sending almost exactly the same amount to him moments before going into the water place? I'm out of over {$100.00} and can go to jail behind this. Cash app wouldn't do anything even when I tried to escalate the call.
