My XXXX XXXX XXXX child has a XXXX account with Capital One. They have the childs date of birth and are fully aware that a child of this age is ineligible to have a credit card. They mailed a preapproved card in my childs name - that could have been stolen and activated - to a XXXX. Their only resolution was to stop all credit card offers to my address- with the caveat that anything already in process for 45 days cant be stopped. The promotion should have never been targeted to the age demographic. This is a major risk in todays environment of mail fraud and stolen identities. It was reckless of this financial institution. They also provide no mechanism to connect with anyone to discuss how this happened and prevent it from happening again.
