Consumer Narrative

I had a Cash App savings account of {$1700.00} as of XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I checked my balance, and it showed only {$72.00}. I began reviewing the activity on my account and discovered that a person named XXXX XXXX had transferred {$1700.00} from my savings to my cash balance. She then paid herself {$1600.00}. I formally disputed the transactions with Cash App, but they denied my claim. They asserted, without basis, that my account was not compromised and that the payment was authorized by me or someone else authorized to use my account, simply because the transaction was initiated by a device in my possession. Although I had all my devices under my control, I never authorized anyone to use my account. When I contacted Cash App support, they reiterated this unsupported conclusion. I reiterated to them that my account had been hacked by this XXXX XXXX and that I had no idea who she was. Cash App told me I would have to submit each transaction as a separate dispute. As I was in the process of doing this, the person I was speaking with, named XXXX, disconnected the call. Because XXXX XXXX hacked my account from XX/XX/XXXX, to XX/XX/XXXX, she was able to initiate withdrawals from my XXXX XXXX checking account into my Cash App balance, which she used to purchase and sell Bitcoin. At that time, I only had about {$26.00} in my Bitcoin account. I do not have knowledge about Bitcoin, and originally purchased {$25.00} just to see how it worked. See Attachment A ( XXXX page ) for the list of the other transactions she initiated. On XX/XX/XXXX, a {$350.00} transaction was also denied, as was the {$1600.00} transaction from XX/XX/XXXX. I have filed a dispute with Cash App for the remaining transactions listed. See Attachment B ( XXXX pages ) for the claim details for the dispute I filed with XXXX XXXX regarding the money XXXX XXXX withdrew from my checking account using my debit card ending in XXXX. See Attachment C ( XXXX pages ) for the claim details from XXXX XXXX, which they denied. Attachment D ( XXXX page ) shows what was in my Cash App savings as of XX/XX/XXXX. Attachment XXXX ( XXXX pages ) is a copy of the transactions Im disputing. Attachment F ( XXXX pages ) is a transcript of the conversations and emails Ive had with Cash App XXXX. Attachment G ( XXXX page ) shows XXXX XXXX history with me. Based on the provided documentation, it is evident that I was defrauded. I expect a full refund for the funds I lost. If you have any questions, contact me directly at XXXX or XXXX. I look forward to your response.
