On XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted my apartment complex to give my 30-day notice to vacate. The leasing office told me in person that my lease ended on XX/XX/year>, and confirmed that date again when I moved out. Based on their instructions, I vacated the unit on XX/XX/XXXX. Weeks later, the apartment complex claimed my lease did not end on XX/XX/XXXX and stated that it actually ended on XX/XX/XXXX. Because of this incorrect information they gave me, they are now attempting to charge me additional rent and fees for dates after XX/XX/XXXX. I have email records and photographs showing : The office telling me my lease ended XX/XX/XXXX My notice submitted based on the date they gave me My move-out and the property condition on XX/XX/XXXX The billing statement they later sent, which conflicts with the move-out date they originally provided I disputed the charges and requested correction, but the complex has not resolved the issue. Instead, they sent the balance to a debt collector, despite my timely notice and the leasing office providing the wrong end date. I am requesting that the incorrect charges be removed, the account be corrected to reflect XX/XX/XXXX as my move-out date ( as I was told ), and that any collection activity associated with these improper charges be stopped.
