On XX/XX/year>, Westlake Financial repossessed my vehicle for a defaulted balance. I was sent a letter stating that I had up until XX/XX/XXXX to reinstate my contract by paying {$1500.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX when calling to pay the balance for the vehicle and obtain the location of my personal belongings, I was told that the balance had been changed to {$2000.00}. The agent that I spoke with didn't provide much help, so I sent a letter to Westlake through express mail requesting a written breakdown of this changed balance and also a request for the location of my personal items. My letters were not responded to. On another phone call, an agent gave me the number to XXXX XXXX XXXX and told me to arrange my personal property pick up with them. When I called XXXX, I was told that Westlake didn't authorize me to pick up my personal property, so I can not do so. I called Westlake again regarding the matter and was still given the run around, I didn't get an agent who could assist me in finding my personal property for weeks. I was told over the phone the balance changed because of another payment and I never received another letter with the real balance. Frustrated to my core, I paid {$2000.00} on XX/XX/XXXX to put this all behind me and recover my vehicle as I was making no progress in them righting their wrongs. In the midst of all of this, my registration expired on XX/XX/XXXX and needed to be renewed but once the vehicle was repossessed, I figured I would pay the balance first, then update the registration. When going to update the registration, I was then told by the XXXX that my title was transferred to West Virginia on XX/XX/year>, I called West Virginia XXXX services and I was told that the title was cancelled. Then I called Westlake, and it was confirmed that my title was cancelled, which prevented me from recovering my vehicle. It wasn't until XX/XX/XXXX that I received a packet to sign for Westlake to have POA of my vehicle. I was told this was required in order for me to get my title reinstated. Westlake received the form with my signature on Monday, XX/XX/XXXX, and I'm still being told by their customer service agents that they can not update me on my title. I've sent emails and called, and I still have not been given any updates on the status of my title. I was told that I can pick the vehicle up, but I can not legally drive the vehicle because of the dead tags that I have, which is delaying my recovery. Additionally, this account is being reported closed on my credit report with a past due balance of {$590.00}, my balance was never that amount. This entire process has been mentally draining, financially taxing, and overall stressful. Not one representative at Westlake Financial can give me useful information and I'm still left without a car that I'm expected to continue paying for.
