Consumer Narrative
Hello, I have been a PNC Bank customer for nearly XXXX years and I must say, up until recently, I never had any issues until I took out a credit card. I am extremely disappointed with how confusing PNC Bank makes for one to simply understand their credit card statement. Additionally, the terms of the credit card are nowhere to be found online, yet all of my other documents are uploaded online. I had been corresponding with XXXX XXXX with Retail Support, regarding this. I expressed my frustration that upon taking out the cash advance, there were multiple requests within a short period of time. Had I known that I'd be charged a fee each time for receiving the cash advance, I would have proceeded differently. Anyone looking at my bank account with PNC will be able to see my spending pattern and I am not frivolous with my spending decisions. However, when requesting and advancing through the screens to request a cash advance, nowhere does it alert you that you will be charged a separate fee for each advance received. When I asked XXXX where to access the terms for the PNC XXXX credit card, she told me that the terms are only mailed. To make it so extremely difficult to understand and find the terms, is extremely predatory. Not to mention, the interest rate and payment amount is variable and the balance appears to be nearly impossible, even with good faith efforts, to pay down this debt and to even make a dent in it. Additionally, I spoke with XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/year> also about how confusing it is to understand my credit card statements. Just simply understanding how my payments are being applied is nearly impossible to make out based on the statements and documents that are accessible to me. Given that there are XXXX buckets that make up the balance, I have no idea what amounts to my payments are being applied to the balance for the cash advance, the balance for the credit card purchases, and what is being applied to interest. Even in speaking with XXXX, we both tried to make sense of the information on the statements, and it is nearly impossible without having to toggle back and forth between screens, attempt to make calculations, and pull what you can to complete the picture about what's going on. I am extremely disappointed that after many years of not having a credit card, I apply for one, and this just reminds me of why I didn't have one in the first place. Perhaps, this card was just not good to begin with as it's not even a PNC product anymore. This situation is predatory and abusive. I look forward to hearing back. Best regards, XXXX
