On XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX, I was scammed out of {$1600.00} after sending a peer-to-peer payment through my XXXX account for a car for my Neice that she never received. I immediately reported the fraud and filed a dispute, but XXXX denied my claim and refused to refund my money. I provided full evidence showing I was deceived under false pretenses. Although I authorized the peer-to-peer payment, it was made under false pretenses and obtained through deception, which constitutes fraud. Under the Consumer Financial Protection Act ( 12 U.S.C. 5531 ) and CFPB Bulletin XXXX, financial institutions may not engage in unfair or deceptive practices by denying assistance to consumers who were tricked into sending money through scams. Chimes failure to properly investigate or provide relief in this matter violates federal consumer protection standards, and I am requesting that the CFPB require XXXX to issue me a refund.
