Venmo encourages fraud and closes your account when you call them out about it. After about a month of contacting support on an account I hadn't even used they closed my account do to suspicious activity. My friend was a victim of fraud the scammer sent money to me and themselves from my friends account to make it look normal when it wasnt. They denied her fraud claim. So I reached out to confirm it. They didn't like that and closed my account. I hoping she gets her money back but my hopes are low.
