What Happened : In XX/XX/year>, I contracted XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX for extensive foundation repairs and related work, including mold treatment, installation of XXXX drains, a sump pump, structural reinforcement, and utility routing for a washer-dryer installation. A deck was also replaced. I paid an initial deposit of {$12000.00} in cash. After completion of the first phase in XX/XX/year>, I attempted to pay the remaining {$70000.00} via wire transfer from my XXXX XXXX account, but XXXX declined the transfer. At the contractors instruction, I issued XXXX checks for {$35000.00} each, payable to XXXX XXXX, the contractors accountant.
