Subject : Incorrect XXXX XXXX Collection Reported by Credit Collection Services ( CCS ) I am filing this complaint because Credit Collection Services ( CCS ) and XXXX XXXX are reporting a collection account on my credit report that is incorrect, unsupported, and should be removed immediately. Here is what happened : 1. I canceled my XXXX auto policy and received a refund. I have proof from my bank account showing a {$450.00} charge on XX/XX/year> and then a refund of {$250.00} on XX/XX/year> from XXXX. A cancellation refund clearly means the policy was terminated and no additional balance was due. 2. XXXX never contacted me about any unpaid balance after the refund. I received XXXX mailed bills, XXXX emails, and XXXX official notices from XXXX. The XXXX app shows No eligible policies available, which confirms the policy was already cancelled. 3. The only contact I received months later was from CCS not XXXX. CCS texted me claiming I owed a balance, but provided no itemized bill, no breakdown, and no explanation of how a balance could exist after a refund was issued. Under federal law ( FDCPA ), a debt collector must provide verification of the debt upon first contact. CCS did not. 4. This collection is inaccurate and violates the FCRA. You can not refund a customer and then later claim they owe a past-due balance without ever sending a bill or explaining the charge. No valid debt exists, and neither XXXX nor CCS has provided documentation showing otherwise. 5. This error has damaged my credit. My derogatory marks changed from 0 to 1 because of this inaccurate collection. I am being penalized for a debt I do not owe and was never notified about. I am requesting the CFPB to take the following actions : Require XXXX and CCS to provide full proof that any balance is legitimate ( itemized bill, dates, charges ). Require removal of the collection from all credit bureaus ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) if they can not produce valid documentation. Investigate Allstates failure to notify me of any debt prior to sending it to collections. Investigate CCS for reporting an unverified and invalid debt. All evidence is attached : Bank transaction showing XXXX refund XXXX app screenshot showing no active policy Text messages from CCS No prior balance notices from XXXX This collection is false, unvalidated, and harmful, and I am requesting full deletion from my credit report.
