I financed my car with Global Lending Services, LLC ( GLS ) XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX, I refinanced my car with a different company. On XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, GLS received, endorsed, and cashed the payoff check from my new finance company. I was sent two seperate refund checks from GLS dated XXXX and XXXX XX/XX/year>. On XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, my account was closed with a XXXX balance. XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, I began receiving threatning phone calls and emails from XXXX stating that I hadn't paid my car payment since XX/XX/year> and if payment was not made, my car would be repossessed and it would be reported negatively to the credit bureaus. I emailed and made phone calls in the attempt to clarify the situation. I offered to email pictures of the letters I have showing the XXXX balance as well as of the refund checks that I'd been issued. This was met with unprofessional rudeness and being called a " liar '' by a representative from the escalations department. XXXX XX/XX/XXXX I received an email that said I owed a balance of {$1200.00} as well a physical letter in the mail stating that I owed {$1900.00}. The physical letter had a breakdown that stated that I owed {$0.00} " Unpaid late fees charged this period '', {$0.00} " previous unpaid late fees '', and {$0.00} " total unpaid other fees ''. Yet, the same document says that {$1300.00} is owed in " total interest charged over monthly statement period '' and the monthly statement was listed as XXXX XX/XX/XXXX to XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. GLS continues erroneous collection activity on a non-existent account as well as harassing phone calls, causing severe distress and creating a risk of false credit reporting. Should this be falsely reported to the credit bureaus, it would take me at least 6 months to rectify. That means 6 months of not being afforded the proper credit that I deserve.
