I am submitting this complaint regarding Caine & Weiner XXXX XXXX XXXX for their attempt to collect an alleged debt related to Progressive XXXX after my policy was canceled I did not owe a balance. At the time of cancellation, I believed my account was settled appropriately based on the cancellation terms provided by Progressive. Despite this, Caine & Weiner XXXX has reported and attempted to collect a remaining balance that I dispute. I have not been provided with adequate validation demonstrating that this balance is accurate, legally owed, or calculated correctly following the policy cancellation. Additionally, I am concerned that this collection activity may violate the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ), including but not limited to attempting to collect an amount not expressly authorized by the agreement or permitted by law. This alleged debt has caused financial and emotional distress and may be negatively impacting my consumer credit profile. I am requesting that the CFPB investigate the matter and require Caine & Weiner XXXX to provide proper documentation validating the debt or cease collection efforts and correct any inaccurate credit reporting. I am requesting the following resolution : Full validation of the alleged debt, including an itemized explanation of charges after cancellation. Immediate cessation of collection efforts if the debt can not be validated. Removal of any inaccurate or unverified information reported to credit bureaus. Written confirmation of the resolution.
