I am filing this complaint against TransUnion for inaccurate and contradictory reporting of a XXXX account ( ending in XXXX ). On XX/XX/XXXX, I settled this account for {$670.00}. My TransUnion report correctly shows a {$0.00} balance and the remark 'SETTLED-LESS THAN FULL BLNC '. However, the 'Pay Status ' field still incorrectly labels the account as 'Account paid in Full was a Charge-off '. An account can not be both 'Settled ' and an active 'Charge-off. ' This contradictory reporting is a violation of the FCRA requirement for maximum possible accuracy. I have disputed this twice ( XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX ), but TransUnion has failed to correct the Pay Status to properly reflect that the account is simply 'Settled. ' I am attaching my settlement letter and my TransUnion report showing these conflicting data points.
