I am filing this complaint against Equifax for its repeated failure to accurately report a settled XXXX account ( ending in XXXX ). On XX/XX/XXXX, I reached a settlement with XXXX for a payment of {$670.00}. I have fully satisfied this agreement, and my Equifax report correctly reflects a {$0.00} balance as of XX/XX/XXXX. However, Equifax continues to report the account status as 'Charge Off ' with the remark 'Payment after charge off / collection. ' I have disputed this twice ( XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX ), providing the signed settlement letter each time. Equifax 'Verified " the incorrect 'Charge Off ' status both times. This is a violation of the FCRA requirement for maximum possible accuracy. Other credit bureaus are already reporting this account correctly as 'Paid in Settlement. ' I am attaching my settlement letter, the Equifax report showing the error, and a copy of my TransUnion report which shows the correct status to prove Equifax 's reporting is inconsistent and inaccurate.
