I am submitting this complaint regarding Mountain Land Collections continued attempts to collect and furnish multiple medical collection accounts that have not been properly validated despite repeated written requests. In XX/XX/year>, I sent a written debt validation request to Mountain Land Collections via certified mail regarding several alleged medical collection accounts they are reporting. Mountain Land Collections responded with a generic boilerplate letter that did not include competent evidence of the debts. I sent a second written validation request shortly thereafter, again via certified mail, citing my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ) and Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). Mountain Land Collections again responded with a substantially identical boilerplate letter that failed to provide legally sufficient validation. Although I no longer have copies of my first two written requests, I do have certified mail receipts confirming delivery of those requests and written responses from Mountain Land Collections acknowledging and responding to them. On XX/XX/year>, I sent a final written notice via certified mail giving Mountain Land Collections ten ( 10 ) days to either provide complete validation or cease collection activity and request deletion of the accounts from all consumer reporting agencies. A copy of this final notice is attached. Mountain Land Collections did not respond to the final notice within the stated period and has ceased responding altogether. Despite this, the company continues to furnish and verify the disputed accounts with consumer reporting agencies. The responses provided by Mountain Land Collections do not include a signed agreement, itemized medical billing, proof of assignment or authority to collect, documentation supporting the addition of interest, or a description of the method of verification used. I am requesting that Mountain Land Collections be required to either provide competent evidence substantiating the alleged debts and the method of verification used, or delete the accounts from all consumer reporting agencies.
