This complaint concerns the reporting of fraudulent and unauthorized accounts that do not belong to me. I have notified the credit bureaus and the furnishers that these accounts are not mine and were opened without my knowledge or permission. Despite this, the inaccurate information continues to be reported. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) 602, 604, 605, 607 ( b ), and 611, consumer reporting agencies and furnishers are required to report only accurate, verifiable information and must conduct a reasonable investigation when a dispute is filed. These accounts can not be verified as belonging to me because they are fraudulent. Additionally, XXXX XXXX reporting guidelines require furnishers to report data with maximum accuracy and to remove or correct unverifiable or fraudulent information immediately. Continued reporting of accounts that can not be authenticated is a violation of both FCRA accuracy requirements and XXXX XXXX compliance standards. I am requesting CFPB enforcement to ensure these fraudulent accounts are fully investigated and permanently deleted from my credit reports. I also request confirmation that all furnishers and bureaus have corrected my file and removed every unauthorized account associated with identity theft.
