Consumer Narrative

This is my second CFPB complaint regarding Experian Information Solutions , Inc.s failure to comply with the Fair Credit Reporting Act after receiving a valid Identity Theft Report. On XX/XX/2025, I submitted a CFPB complaint requesting the immediate blocking and permanent removal of multiple fraudulent accounts pursuant to FCRA 605B ( 15 U.S.C. 1681c-2 ). My submission included all documentation required by law, including FTC Identity Theft Reports, government-issued identification, proof of address, and supporting breach evidence. Despite receipt of this information, Experian did not block the identity-theft accounts within four ( 4 ) business days, as required by statute. Instead, Experian issued a generic interim response stating that it was reviewing the matter and redirected me to standard dispute channels. FCRA 605B does not permit delay, reinvestigation, or redirection to dispute processes once a valid Identity Theft Report is received. Experian also failed to identify any statutory basis under 605B ( c ) to refuse blocking, such as error, misrepresentation, or consumer authorization. As of today, the fraudulent accounts remain on my Experian credit file, and Experian has provided no written confirmation of compliance with 605B. This conduct constitutes : Failure to comply with mandatory identity-theft blocking requirements Failure to maintain reasonable procedures under FCRA 607 ( b ) Continued consumer harm after verified notice of identity theft
