I am writing to formally dispute XXXX or more hard inquiries that appear on my consumer credit report. This dispute is submitted pursuant to my rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act 15 USC 1681. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act Section 604 a consumer reporting agency may only report a credit inquiry if it was made with a permissible purpose. Permissible purposes include a transaction initiated by the consumer or written authorization provided by the consumer. I did not authorize this inquiry nor did I initiate any transaction that would allow permissible access to my consumer report. Additionally under Fair Credit Reporting Act Section 611 you are required to conduct a reasonable investigation into disputed information and remove any information that can not be verified as accurate complete and authorized. At this time I am requesting that you investigate this hard inquiry and provide documentation showing my written authorization or other proof of permissible purpose. If you are unable to provide such proof the inquiry must be deleted from my credit report immediately. Please complete your investigation within the time period required by law and provide written confirmation of the results. Failure to remove unauthorized inquiries constitutes a violation of federal consumer protection law. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
