Representative " XXXX '' called me, a third party family member, and tried to collect the outstanding debt from me. He used information available online, information that associates me with the family member such as my approximate age and address, etc trying to get me to accept that the debt was mine. When i asked him to give me further details for identification he would not. He claimed he had already given me too much information, which is true in my estimation because he knew it wasn't my debt. I told XXXX this was an attempt to collect a debt and told him to not call me number again. He said he could not stop calling because I owed the debt, which i do not. Then XXXX, I doubt it is real name, threatened to continue calling me until i paid the debt. I asked him again to not call me again and informed him that i was going to file this complaint. XXXX was engaging in unfair practices because he clearly knew i was not the debtor, however, continued fishing for information and wanting me to pay the debt of the related third party. Compay name is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX. Debtor is XXXX XXXX XXXX and the amount is {$65.00}. I know this because they sent me a letter, without a date. XXXX XXXX is XXXX XXXX. Phone number XXXX. The very aggregious part of the this is the use of search information that associates myself with my son. i will also note that this agency has contacted other relatives to collect the debt.
