Received notice on my credit report that I had a delinquent student loan. I have never applied for a student loan in my entire life. I called XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX, CA, and they directed to the US Dept of Ed, who verbally gave me steps to resolve this. I disputed the student loan debt with the credit bureau and both times it was denied, but then wasn't showing on my credit report any long, so I assumed the issue had been resolved. When I received my federal tax return, funds were withheld from my taxes to pay for the fraudulent student loan ( XXXX ). On XXXX, I called the US Dept of Ed, and they sent me a forgery application which I filled out and submitted to the US Dept of Ed with supporting documents of my identity, as well as documents showing my place of residence at the time the XXXX XXXX was awarded, proving that I did not attend the college in California.
