Issue : Auto loan inaccurate credit reporting and improper handling of voluntary repossession. What Happened : In XXXX, I contacted my auto lender and requested a voluntary repossession due to a failed transmission. I provided the lender with the exact location of the vehicle and the repair shops full contact information. The vehicle was fully available for pickup. The lender told me they had the right to refuse the repossession. They never retrieved the vehicle and never sent any required legal notices ( no notice of repossession, no intent to sell, and no deficiency notice ). The repair shop later reported the vehicle was no longer there. I have not had the vehicle in my possession since XXXX. Despite refusing to retrieve the vehicle and despite my lack of possession, the lender has : Reported late payments every month for years Reported an outstanding balance of approximately {$9000.00} Failed to provide documentation showing they attempted recovery Failed to send any notices required by UCC repossession laws This is inaccurate credit reporting, a failure to mitigate loss, and a violation of FCRA and state repossession requirements. I am requesting : 1. Removal of all late payments after XXXX 2. Adjusting the balance to {$0.00} 3. Correction or deletion of the entire tradeline 4. Confirmation of their handling of the repossession request 5. Documentation of any attempts to retrieve the vehicle
