Westlake Financial is refusing to provide location of repossessed vehicle and withholding personal property My boyfriend is the primary on the loan and is currently incarcerated. I have full access to the account and provided Westlake Financial with an authorization letter signed by him so that I can act as his agent for retrieving personal property from the repossessed vehicle. The vehicle was repossessed on XX/XX/XXXX. I have repeatedly contacted Westlake to request the name, phone number, and address of the repossession company/impound lot that is holding the personal property inside the vehicle. Westlake has given me incorrect or non-working phone numbers, refused to provide the location of the vehicle, claimed they can not speak to me even though the authorization is already on file, and multiple representatives have hung up on me when I requested to speak to a supervisor. Westlake is withholding thousands of dollars worth of personal property, including work tools and clothing, which they have no legal right to keep. I have made multiple attempts to retrieve these items, and the company is obstructing access to the property by refusing to provide accurate information and directing me to disconnected numbers. I am requesting immediate assistance in obtaining : 1. The name, address, and phone number of the repossession agency or storage facility currently holding the vehicle. 2. Access to retrieve the personal property inside the vehicle. Their refusal to give me this information has caused significant hardship, and I believe they are violating regulations regarding consumer access to personal property after repossession.
