I set up an online payment for my rent as I always do with this account for XXXX, XXXX in the amount of {$3200.00}. The bank ( Truist ) locked my account- without notice - due to inactivity even though my monthly pension check is direct deposited every month into this account and several other transactions including rent payments occurred over the year. I called the bank to discuss with the manager and was told it was locked because I had not initiated any personal transactions- only auto payments and deposits. I was never made aware of this policy nor was I notified that they were going to lock the account. As a result of the bank refusing the transaction, my rent is now late and I will incur fees of approximately {$130.00}. I requested reimbursement from the bank as I did nothing to cause the issue and was told they could not reimburse me.
