I signed up for a {$350.00} new account opening bonus with Chime on XX/XX/XXXX. The terms of this offer were to get {$250.00} for setting up a direct deposit in the amount of $ XXXX, and to get up to {$100.00} in cash back on transactions made in the first 30 days ( 10 % cash back up to {$25.00} rebate per transaction ). I completed part XXXX and received {$250.00} as agreed upon. For part XXXX, avoiding all the exclusions that were comprehensively listed in the terms & conditions ( highlighted in that attached document ), I made purchases totaling {$940.00} between XX/XX/XXXX - XX/XX/XXXX ; I should receive {$94.00} in cash back. To date, I have received {$36.00} back ( 38 % of the agreed funds ) and {$58.00} is missing. During the first call I made on XX/XX/XXXX, the representative assured me that I met the terms and the cash back would be in my account by the end of the week. I called back on XX/XX/XXXX and they assured me the same but told me to wait until the end of the month. I called back on XXXX and the agent relayed that some of the transactions were excluded per the terms of service ( " any other transactions that Chime may determine at its sole discretion are not eligible to earn cash back '' ). A supervisor relayed that if the system doesn't register a transaction as qualifying, there is no way to add it manually so they are excluded. They refused to help me further or provide any alternate resolution for not carrying out the terms as stated, stating This is not ideal but this is the information we have. Therefore, XXXX transactions equal to {$58.00} in cash back ( 62 % of the agreed to funds ) don't qualify per a vague, non-specified clause in their terms. None of my XXXX transactions were the exclusions listed in the terms, but they were excluded per a system decision that was not disclosed to me as the consumer. This is deceptive and does not follow the terms as stated, as if most of the transactions are not eligible for cash back, those types should be disclosed in the terms and conditions along with the already listed types.
