My bank closed my account after 56 days due to a reported negative balance of {$4.00}. I was never notified that my account was negative or that it was at risk of closure. Because there is no local branch near me, my account usage decreased, but at no point did the bank send any warning or alert regarding the negative balance or closure timeline. On XX/XX/XXXX, I deposited {$50.00} into the account, unaware that the account was scheduled for closure. The deposit posted, but the account was immediately restricted. Over the next three days, I contacted customer service repeatedly and received inconsistent and incorrect information from nine different representatives, including management. Ultimately, I was escalated to the highest support level and instructed to link an external account so the remaining funds could be transferred to me. Instead of transferring the funds from the restricted account to me, the bank system withdrew money from my external account, even though the restricted account does not allow withdrawals or any functions other than deposits. As a result, I can not access the original {$50.00} deposit, nor the additional funds that were improperly pulled from my external account. The bank has provided no resolution and continues to give inconsistent information.
