I am filing this complaint because my FHA mortgage servicer, LoanDepot ( and later XXXX ), is reporting late payments that are not accurate. These late-payment entries were reported during documented forbearance and medical hardship periods when payments were formally suspended. In XXXX, I XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, resulting in a XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXXXXXX. My XXXX at XXXX XXXX submitted multiple medical hardship letters to the servicer to support my request for payment relief. LoanDepot approved an FHA forbearance plan beginning on XX/XX/XXXX and ending on XX/XX/XXXX. During this time, the servicer confirmed that payments were suspended and that no payments were due. Despite the approved FHA forbearance and the medical hardship accommodations, the servicer reported late payments on my credit report. These late entries do not match the terms of the forbearance, the suspended payment obligations, or the requirements under HUD Handbook 4000.1, Regulation X ( 12 CFR 1024 ), and FCRA accuracy standards ( 602 ( A ), 607 ( b ), and 611 ). FHA guidance requires servicers to report accounts in forbearance accurately and not to mischaracterize payment status. Due to my XXXX XXXX and loss of income, I was ultimately forced to sell my home in XXXX, PA. The home was sold on XX/XX/XXXX, and the mortgage was paid in full at settlement. I have attached my XXXX XXXX XXXX showing the full payoff to the servicer. I am requesting that CFPB assist with a full reinvestigation and correction of all inaccurate late-payment entries that were reported during periods of FHA forbearance , suspended payments, or documented hardship. The credit reporting is not accurate, does not reflect the conditions of the forbearance, and has caused significant harm to my credit. I am asking for correction of the reporting to reflect the accurate account status during the forbearance and hardship period.
