In XXXX, I paid my XXXX XXXX credit card balance down to zero. The following month, the company added a {$9.00} interest charge to my XXXX statement. Had I been aware of this charge, I would have paid it immediately ; however, I did not check the statement because I was under the impression that my account had been fully paid off. Subsequently, I began receiving phone calls regarding delinquent payments. The company assessed two months of past-due fees and then reported to the credit bureaus that I had missed two consecutive payments. This resulted in a 40-point decrease in my credit score. In addition, my credit limit was reduced from {$700.00} to {$200.00}, further impacting my credit profile. The lowered score also negatively affected my other credit accounts. I contacted the company, and although they refunded the late fees, they refused to restore my original credit limit. I was informed that the reduction was due to a random credit pull and the decrease in my credit scoredespite the fact that the score had dropped because of their inaccurate reporting. I also expressed that I did not authorize a credit pull. I highlighted that these issues align with several publicly known lawsuits involving unauthorized credit inquiries and inaccurate charges.
