Last year in XXXX, I decided to switch phone companies from XXXX to XXXX. I paid my bill on XX/XX/year> as always. Before the end of the month, I called XXXX customer service ( XXXX ) and eventually got connected with a representative who helped me end my service. Before the phone call ended, I specifically asked if I needed to pay anything else or if I made the switch just in time ( before the next billing cycle took effect ). The woman on the other end said I was fine, and that I did not need to worry about anything else. I was all set and the phone call was ended. Fast forward to this year and XXXX eventually had Source Receivables Management attempt to collect XXXX. Firstly, my regular bill amount ( IF owed ) was XXXX, meaning the new amount is incorrect. This was not a result of interest either because the statement they provided did not charge me for interest at all on a month to month basis. Secondly, I was told I had paid all my bills as aforementioned. Now theyve gone ahead and reported it despite me saying all this to them as well. It has wrecked my credit.This is apparently a common business practice for XXXX according to other experiences from research I did. My credit score plummeted. I literally have no missed payments in my entire credit account history. Why would I miss this one if I truly owed it? I need it removed from my credit report!
