I am writing to formally dispute and report an account that was fraudulently opened in my name with PNC Bank. I did not open or authorize this account, nor did I give anyone permission to use my personal information. Despite notifying PNC of the fraud, I have been told that the account can not be closed. This is unacceptable. As the victim of identity theft, I am asserting my rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) and the Identity Theft and Assumption Deterrence Act. I have filed a complaint with FTC Identity Theft Report ( from IdentityTheft.gov ) and all 3 credit bureaus. 1 st notified PNC on XX/XX/year> and again on XX/XX/year> in person with my passport and real California ID.
