XX/XX/XXXX, someone hacked into my joint SoFi account I share with my husband. They should not have been able to do this as I have XXXX factor authentication set up and I never received any kind of notice anyone was trying to log in. They transferred money from my savings to my checking account, and then transferred {$2400.00} out of my checking account into an external XXXX account they set up in my husbands name. We didnt know about the XXXX account until several days later when we received a debit card in his name in the mail. I immediately called SoFi when I received a notification from my banking app that a transfer had been initiated. I made a report with my local police department and they advised we are the victims of identity theft, so I made additional reports with the FTC and FBI. My husband contacted XXXX to request a hold harmless letter and provide the police report information. We both put fraud alerts on our credit reports and made sure our credit is frozen. On XX/XX/XXXX I still had not heard back from SoFi regarding getting my money back. I called them and within a couple of hours I received a vague email about their denial of my decision with NO supporting documentation. I emailed them XXXX times about this with no response. I requested their supporting documentation and received nothing. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called them again to have them reopen my claim. Ultimately, I did nothing wrong and SoFi did not protect my account the way they are supposed to with XXXX factor authentication.
