I previously filed a complaint regarding Self Financial reporting a secured credit card account on my credit report. Self responded with generic documents ( a blank card agreement and a transaction list ) that do not prove the account belongs to me. They failed to provide : No signed agreement No e-signature audit trail No IP address No application data No device information No proof I funded the security deposit No billing statements addressed to me No notices of late payments No identity verification results The documents they provided do not establish that I opened this account, nor do they show any link to my identity. Under FCRA 623 ( a ) ( 8 ), a furnisher must conduct a reasonable investigation and validate identity when ownership is disputed. Self Financial did not do this.
