In XXXX XXXX XXXX, I spoke with a sales rep from Consumer Legal Group ( CLG ) who assured me they we skilled in helping with debt resolution. I was drowning in debt and falling behind. I thought they could help me and several promises, that can be traced to a recoded phone call, were made. They even claimed they could get the debt reduced down to a minimal amount or in some cases, have it reduced to almost nothing. I trusted them and started paying my {$330.00} or so per month. They advised me to stop having any contact with the creditors and they would send out Cease & Desist letters which they did but that is ALL they did. After the letters were sent to the creditors, I didn't hear anything from them for months. I had to follow up and I was basically told my case was forgotten ( check the recorded lines ) and then they assigned me to a rep who was brand new and didn't know what he was doing. Nice guy but extremely inexperienced paralegal. I was told I would have attorney 's working on my case but that was not so. I felt I was being scammed and this was a total and complete fraud. I was then hit by lawsuits from the creditors which I could not believe as I entrusted CLG to represent me which they had not. On XX/XX/XXXX, I spoke with XXXX from CLG who admitted to me that in XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX was using an affiliate company to sell their services. I was also informed that they are no longer working with said company any longer. I told XXXX that I wanted a complete and total refund as I was scammed and promised services were not honored. She said she would escalate the matter but I have not heard anything from them. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called CLG again and spoke with XXXX. XXXX placed me on hold and supposedly spoke with management who stated they were still reviewing my case. I gave CLG until XX/XX/XXXX to provide a full and complete refund or I was going to file a class action lawsuit against them as there are SEVERAL upset past customers who have had the same experience. They should no longer be in business. They take advantage of people who are struggling, make false promises and just take your money. Disgusting.
