On XX/XX/2025, I mailed a direct dispute to Credit Acceptance requesting a reinvestigation of inaccurate information they are reporting to the credit bureaus, including late payments, account status codes, and historical payment information. They were legally required to respond within 30 days under FCRA 623 ( a ) ( 3 ). Credit Acceptance never responded to my direct dispute, never provided the method of verification, never supplied any supporting documentation, and never notified me of the investigation results. Despite failing to respond to my dispute, Credit Acceptance continued to verify the information with XXXX XXXX XXXX which is impossible because they provided me with no investigation results or documentation. XXXX reinvestigation states that the company certified the information as accurate. XXXX reinvestigation states that the creditor verified the current status and prior payment history as correct. This is a violation of the following laws : FCRA 623 ( a ) ( 3 ) Furnishers duty to investigate direct disputes FCRA 623 ( b ) Duty to conduct a reasonable investigation before certifying information FCRA 611 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ) Reinvestigation requirements FCRA 611 ( a ) ( 7 ) Failure to provide the method of verification I am requesting that the CFPB require Credit Acceptance to : Provide the full method of verification Provide all documents used to verify the account Provide the contract and complete payment ledger Delete the account if they can not produce documentation or if they failed to investigate my dispute as required by law The furnisher can not legally verify information with the bureaus without responding to the consumers direct dispute. This is why I am requesting deletion of the account.
