On XXXX the Borrower contacted the Lenders lossmitigation department to request a twoweek extension of the first payment under an alreadyapproved loan modification. During that call, the loan officer informed the Borrower that, because of the Federal Government shutdown beginning XXXX XXXX, the Borrower qualified for a special forbearance and that the forbearance was assured and guaranteed because the Borrower was supposed to receive a settlement from the government based on her XXXX and work injury and was unable because the shutdown closed the XXXX XXXX. The officer further instructed the Borrower to cancel the acceptance of the loanmodification and rely on the promised forbearance. Please note that the Borrower had no direct knowledge of the special forbearance and it was the lender who informed the Borrower of her qualification and that the Borrower should cancel the loan modification for these reasons. On XXXX the Lender formally canceled the loanmodification based on the Borrowers cancellation following the instructions of the Lender. On XXXX the Borrower was notified that the forbearance request had been denied, despite the officers earlier guarantee. As a result, the Borrower is now at imminent risk of foreclosure.
