In XX/XX/year>, I disputed a Midland Credit Management collection account because the balance and reporting information did not appear accurate. At the same time, I sent Midland a written Debt Validation Request under FDCPA 809 ( b ). Midland did not provide any validation no contract, no account-level statements, and no documentation proving they have the legal right to collect. Despite failing to validate the debt, Midland continued reporting the account to the credit bureaus with a balance of {$1800.00} and updated reporting dates. This violates FDCPA 807 ( 2 ) ( A ), because Midland is reporting and attempting to collect an amount they can not substantiate. It also violates FDCPA 808, because they continued collection activity even though they were legally required to stop until they provided validation.
