Waiting feedback!!! First United Bank & Trust Company has engaged in conduct that has caused and compounded significant errors on my account, resulting in ongoing financial harm and administrative problems. The bank expressly represented that it would not assess late fees during the period of active communications with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ) ; however, it failed to honor that representation and late fees were in fact applied. In addition, when I sought to pay the mortgage insurance, I obtained coverage through a less expensive insurance provider and directed that the related payment be applied to my escrow/insurance account. Instead of properly crediting this payment to escrow, bank personnel improperly applied the funds to the mortgage loan principal. The bank is now attempting to charge me an additional {$1800.00} arising from an error created solely by its own staff. Given that the check was issued and sent directly to the escrow department for the specific purpose of paying insurance, I consider this conduct to be improper and potentially fraudulent.
