Consumer Narrative
I am filing this complaint because two accounts are being reported on my Transunion credit file without my permission or any valid legal basis. I did not authorize these accounts to be reported, and no company had any permissible purpose to place them on my credit report. Despite this, they continue to appear and cause damage to my credit. The accounts being reported without my authorization are : XXXX XXXX Account number : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Account number : XXXX Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 USC 1681b, consumer information may only be reported when there is a valid permissible purpose. That requirement was not met in this case. These accounts were reported without any written authorization, contract, or agreement from me. This makes the reporting unlawful. The credit bureau is also required under 15 USC 1681e ( b ) to ensure maximum possible accuracy. Reporting accounts without legal authority or verification is not accurate and violates federal law. If these accounts can not be proven to be reported lawfully, they must be removed. I formally dispute both accounts and demand their immediate deletion under 15 USC 1681i. I am also demanding documentation that shows who reported these accounts, why they were accepted, and what legal authority or consent was used. Continuing to report these accounts without proof is willful noncompliance under federal law and is causing ongoing harm to my credit and financial standing. I want the CFPB to step in and require immediate action and accountability.
