During the month of XX/XX/year>, I was in the process of purchasing a house. I had the down payment required into American Express " XXXX XXXX XXXX Acct. '' When it was time to send the down payment to the closing company, I received wiring instructions from what I thought was the closing company, but it was someone else impersonating them. On Friday XX/XX/XXXX, I asked American Express for the wire transfer to the account provided by the phishing company. I found out that it was a scam on Monday and directory reported to the American Express fraud team. I called the XXXX and asked them to get a hold of the account, but they said they can only respond to American Express and not consumers. American Express told me it would take XXXX business days for the investigation and they will get back to me. Today is XX/XX/year> and I haven't heard anything from American Express. I have the emails and screenshots, which I also offered to provide to American Express.
