Barclays Bank Delaware, XXXX. XXXX XXXX, XXXX, DE XXXX, XXXX FDIC. XXXX XXXX AAdvantage. I opened a credit card with this company and shortly after activation I began experiencing issues with my account. When I contacted customer service, I was told they were unable to verify my phone number. I explained that my personal information can not be verified through public records because I am an XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX, and my information has been removed from public databases. They informed me that i need to verify my information, I could not use the online system or any portal and would instead need to mail or fax the required documents. I complied and sent the requested information on three separate occasions, but each time I was told it was never received. I requested that the account be closed, but they refused to close it until verification is completed. However, every attempt I make to verify the account is met with the same response that the paperwork was not received. The account has been locked, I can not use the card, I can not access the online portal, and there has been no activity on the card. Despite this, they are now charging me a {$100.00} annual fee. The account is essentially in limbo, and I am still being billed for a service I can not use. When I call for assistance, I am placed on long holds, transferred repeatedly, or disconnected. I am simply requesting that they stop billing me and close the account.
